The ministry of deacons and priests in the Church of England is a ministry of service, both privately in prayer and the study of scripture and publicly as they lead the people of God in worship, preach and teach and take the good news of Jesus into the world. As such, those who are ordained into the Church of England will be able to recognise and articulate both an inner (individual/private) call and an external (public/affirmed) call to that ministry.
Ordained ministers in the Diocese of 51¹ú²ú³Ô¹Ï are held by a series of support mechanisms known as ‘The 51¹ú²ú³Ô¹Ï Diet’. These include pastoral supervision, spiritual direction and an ongoing process of ministerial development review (MDR). Running through The 51¹ú²ú³Ô¹Ï Diet are three golden threads.

Ministerial Review is a sign of the Bishop’s concern for the affirmation and encouragement of ministers. It is a bi-annual consultation with a colleague, lay or ordained, which provides a space outside the normal pattern of ministry to reflect on that ministry, in order to provide support and encouragement for your personal growth and development.
