Welcome to 51¹ú²ú³Ô¹Ï

51¹ú²ú³Ô¹Ï is the oldest diocese in England, stretching from Maidstone to Thanet, the Isle of Sheppey to the Romney Marsh. We have 350 miles of coastline with historic ports and seaside resorts, alongside rural communities, market towns and commuter-belt urban developments. Affluent areas often sit alongside pockets of major deprivation, offering an exciting and challenging mission context.

At the heart of all we do is a vision of transformation for ourselves and our communities: no one can encounter God and remain unchanged. In the Diocese of 51¹ú²ú³Ô¹Ï, we want to increasingly become a Christian community transformed through encounter with Christ, growing and overflowing to transform and bless the families, homes and communities we serve: Changed Lives, Changing Lives.

Today's Prayer

Each day we pray for members of our diocese. Below you can find details of who we are praying for today, which we invite you to use in your own prayers.

Join us in prayer for Praying Together: for the unnoticed in our churches

Loving Father,
We give thanks for those who work so hard to make our churches places of welcome and sanctuary. We pray that you would bless those who quietly dust and clean our places of worship, polishing the woodwork, and taking pride in the silverware. We give thanks for those who make sure everything runs smoothly on a Sunday morning, for those who hand out the pew sheets and who still manage to remember the names of the people who rarely come to church. We give thanks for those who bake cakes and serve tea and coffee, for those who cheerfully wash up piles of cups and saucers at the end of the coffee morning. Today, we take a moment to give thanks for the unnoticed, for the ones without whom our churches would not be the wonderful places they are. We ask you to bless them and we give thanks for their ministry amongst us. Amen.
